Baptist Children's Diagnostic Center understands that children are not small adults. They're not always able to answer questions, and it's sometimes difficult for them to be patient and cooperative during diagnostic testing. That's why it's important to have a specially trained pediatric team of technologists, radiologists and anesthesiologists (should sedation be necessary) who understand how to treat children in a comfortable and relaxing way to ensure that testing is done properly and safely.

Meet Our Doctors

Jonathan Fields, M.D.
Board-certified radiologist Jonathan Fields, M.D., is the director of pediatric imaging at Radiology Associates of South Florida. He is an attending physician for Baptist Outpatient Services and at Baptist, South Miami and Homestead Hospitals. Among his previous positions, he was an attending pediatric radiologist and assistant professor at Children's Hospital at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. Dr. Fields received his medical training at Royal Free Hospital Medical School at London University in London, England. He has been honored with numerous awards and distinctions and has published frequently in Pediatric Radiology, among other medical journals.

Kenneth Mendelson, M.D.
Board-certified radiologist Kenneth Mendelson, M.D., specializes in diagnostic and pediatric radiology. Dr. Mendelson is a member of Radiology Associates of South Florida and is an attending radiologist for Baptist Outpatient Services and at Baptist, South Miami and Homestead Hospitals. Before practicing in South Florida, Dr. Mendelson worked at Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters in Hampton Roads, Virginia. Dr. Mendelson, a retired captain in the U.S. Navy's Medical Corps, studied medicine at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, and completed his Fellowship at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Amy Cantor, M.D.
Board-certified radiologist Amy Cantor, M.D., specializes in diagnostic and pediatric radiology and is a member of Radiology Associates of South Florida. She is an attending radiologist for Baptist Outpatient Services and at Baptist, South Miami and Homestead Hospitals. She has worked at Miami Children's Hospital and as an adjunct assistant professor at Barry University. Dr. Cantor earned her medical degree from the University of Florida and completed a pediatric radiology fellowship at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
